Frequently Asked Questions

ARE COLLAPSABLE BLADDERS SAFE TO USE?

Yes, the material is food safe and FDA compliant giving off no odor or taste, ideal for potable water.

WHY USE COLLAPSIBLE HEAVY DUTY BLADDERS INSTEAD OF WATER BARRELS?

A) COST:   The initial cost of bladders and 55 gallon drums or barrels are similar, however, we ship bladders free and  the cost to ship barrels is very  high..

 B) SHIPPING:  We ship our bladders FREE.  The average cost for shipping drums is $30.00 per drum or an additional $180.00 for 300 gallons of water storage. This figure could climb to $39.95 per barrel depending on your zip code.

C) STORAGE:  An empty 300 gallon heavy duty  bladder weighs only 6 lbs. and can fit in a pizza box.  A 55 empty drum weighs 22 lbs and each one takes up a minimum floor space of 24”. Six drums, slightly over 300 gallons, would use 12 square feet of space when empty. Storing enough barrels to hold 600 gallons would require a room with 24 square feet of empty space.  Storage for 2 empty bladders that hold an equal amount of water (600 gallons) would be equivalent to the space taken by two pizza boxes.  We ship a single 300 gallon bladder in a box 19”L x 12”W x 3” H.  Can you compare?

D) EASE OF USE:  In an emergency simply take our bladders out of a drawer, unroll or unfold, fill and cap. It’s quick, easy and simple.  Anyone can do this.  One person can easily carry 4, 5 and even more bladders at one time.  When no longer needed, one person can drain, fold and place them back in a drawer or cabinet for future use. Bladders are cost effective in every way.

E) FLEXIBILITY:  Water bladders can fit about anywhere, curved surfaces, rough surfaces, in the back of a pick up truck, on a slight hill; or incline, on a roof, the ground, lawn, patio or in an empty room.

WHAT ARE THE APPROXIMATE WEIGHTS OF YOUR COMMON  HEAVY DUTY BLADDERS?

A 60 lb. bladder weighs about 2 lbs, the 150 gallon bladder 3 to 4 lbs and the 300 gallon bladder
 about 6 lbs.

ARE THE BLADDERS WARRANTED?

Each bladder has a one year limited warranty.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR STANDARD AND HEAVY DUTY BLADDERS?

STANDARD BLADDERS are made of white food grade copolymer and are best stored rolled.  They are made of food grade material with outstanding tensile, tear, impact and abrasive qualities and are reusable.   They comply with U.S. FDA Title 21 code of Federal Regulations and give off no odor or taste.

HEAVY DUTY BLADDERS are constructed of heavy duty food grade polyurethane coated nylon and FDA approved.  They also give off no taste or odor and are more puncture resistant, durable than the standard bladders and easier to fold and store.  They won’t wrinkle, crease or crack and remain) flexible.  Heavy duty bladders are easier to handle than standard bladders.

CAN FILLED WATER BLADDERS BE STORED ON OUR ROOF?
Yes if your roof is designed to carry the load.  Water weighs 8.33 lbs. per gallon, so a 300 gallon bladder has a total weight of just less than 2,500 lbs when full.  That is a roof load of approximately 54 lbs per square foot

WHAT OTHER TYPES OF BLADDERS DO YOUR CARRY?

We have bladders for about any purpose and in about any size.  Bladders for Diesel fuel, waste water, food grade materials. Olive oil, wine, quick erect tanks for fire fighting foam, oil spill recovery and hazmat decontamination.  We also have portable gray water bladders or tanks, pillow tanks and waste water bladders.  We are the flexible tank and bladder professionals.
